Avijit murder probe to end soon, CTTC hopes

Staff Correspondent: Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit said a total of 10 persons were held in last three year over writer-blogger Avijit Roy murder case.

"It was known that five more were involved directly with the murder. The investigation will be ended after the arrest of them. We are hopeful about the ending of the investigation," he said.

Monirul Islam came up with the disclosure while replying to a question of a reporter at DMP media center in the capita on Sunday.

"The murder case will be stepped into three years on February 26. Detective Branch of police started investigation from the very beginning of the murder. Then, DB and RAB personnel detained seven suspected people in this regard," Monirul Islam said.

"CTTC got the responsibility to investigate the case around three months ago. Later, three more were arrested in the case," he added.
