CJ for playing uncompromising role to uphold judiciary’s image

Staff Correspondent: Chief Justice (CJ) Syed Mahmud Hossain said, “I cannot let the image of the judiciary tarnish due to few officials and employees.”

He said, “I will take all necessary steps to uphold the image of the judiciary as its guardian and will remain uncompromising to uphold its image.”

The chief justice came up with the remarks while he was holding a courtesy meeting with the officials and employees of the Supreme Court (SC) at the SC auditorium in the capital on Tuesday.

Mahmud Hossain warned the SC officials and employees saying that strict action will be taken if any of them are involved with corruption and irregularities.

The SC officials have to discharge their duties with honesty and sincerity and any irregularities will not be tolerated, the chief justice said, few SC officials seeking anonymity told risingbd.com.

He also urged the officials and employees to perform their functions in such a manner so that the reputation and goodwill of the SC are not damaged.
