15 die from road crashes daily in February

Staff Correspondent: On average, 13 road mishaps occurred across the country every day in February, leaving 15 people killed and 36 injured.
Besides, 22 people were killed by rail mishaps and seven in water vessel accidents in the month.
National Committee to Protect Shipping, Roads and Railways (NCPSRR) came up with the findings in its regular monthly report.
The survey report, prepared on the basis of 22 Bengali and English dailies, 10 local dailies and eight online news portals and new agencies, was released in a press conference on Friday.
"A total of 373 road crashes happened across the country in February, leaving 413 dead including 53 women and 48 children. Besides, 995 other people including 46 women and 19 children sustained injuries in the accidents. The road crashes happened on different roads, highways, national and local roads during February 1 to February 28.
Apart from, 22 people including five women were killed in 31 train crashes while 80 including a woman sustained injuries in the incidents.
Besides, seven people including a woman and three children were killed in six water vessel accidents. Seven more sustained injuries from the incidents.
Major accidents happened due to whimsicality and shortage of carefulness of drivers of bus, truck and heavy vehicles, according to the observation of NCPSRR report.
