Two newly-elected lawmakers take oath

Staff Correspondent: Two newly elected lawmakers from Brahmanbaria-1 (Nasirnagar) and Gaibandha-1 (Sundarganj) BM Farhad Hossain  and Shamim Hyder Patwari respectively took the oath of office.

Speaker Shirin Sharmin Choudhury administered the oath to the newly elected MPs at oath taking room of the parliament house on Wednesday.

Deputy Speaker Advocate Md Fazle Rabbi Miah MP, Leader of the Opposition Raushan Ershad MP, Chief Whip ASM Feroz MP, Whip Shahiduzzaman Sarkar MP, Whip Shahab Uddin MP, Fakhrul Islam MP, Tajul Islam Chowhdury MP, Nur-e-Hasna Lili Chowdhury MP and National Women's Organisation Chairperson Professor Momtaz Begum were also present at the programme.

It may be mentioned that Jatiya Party candidate Shamim Hyder Patwari won the by-polls held on March 13 in Gaibandha-1 while ruling Awami League candidate BM Farhad Hossain was victorious in Brahmanbaria-1.
