Two children burnt from electrocution in city

Staff Correspondent: Two children were burnt from electrocution at Rothkhola road area of the capital’s Nawabpur on Monday noon.

The victim children were known as Rabbi, 8, and Sabbir, 10.

Quoting families, medical sources said WASA workers were working of sewerage line maintenance there. Electric wires were leaked while they were working on Sunday night. But they did not repair it. The two children came in contact with live electric wire while they were playing there on Monday noon, leaving them burnt. Later, they were rushed to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) and admitted to the burn unit.

Rabbi sustained 6 percent burn injuries while Sabbir 8 percent, according to DMCH sources.
