BNP's rally depends on DMP approval

Senior Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has said that the rally of BNP at Suhrawardi Udyan is depending on the approval from Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) commissioner.
The minister made the assertion while replying to a question of reporters after a meeting with BNP leader at his secretariat office in the capital on Tuesday noon.
Home Minister said, "If the police commissioner thinks that there is no problem to allow the rally on March 29, then the commissioner will take necessary steps."
Following the meeting with BNP leaders, Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said, "They (BNP's 3 leaders) said that they are not getting permission for the rally on March 29. I told them that may be there would be any reason behind this. Approval can be given if there is no problem."
"DMP commissioner may be got any information from detectives. That’s why he put embargo. Our commissioner has some responsibility so that any rally can be taken place safely," he added.
Earlier, a three-member BNP delegation led by standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan met the Home Minister ahead of BNP's rally on March 29.
