Mymensingh becomes City Corporation

Senior Correspondent: The government has upgraded the Mymensingh municipality to a city corporation.
National Implementation Committee for Administrative Reform (NICAR) approved the proposal at a meeting in Prime Minister’s Office with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair on Monday.
After the meeting, Cabinet Division secretary of coordination and reformation NM Ziaul Alam briefed reporters.
He said the newly formed City Corporation will have an area of 91.3155 square kilometres with a population of 4,71,858.
