Khaleda’s health check-up report handed over to jail authorities

Staff Correspondent: Health check-up report on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia who is now in jail has been handed over to jail authorities.

“Khaleda Zia's health check-up report has been handed over to jail authorities on Tuesday noon,” said Brig Gen AKM Nasir Uddin, director of Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH), while briefing a press conference.

The DMCH director said, “We have received a report from the four-member medical board that examined the BNP chief's health at the old central jail in the city. Later, the report has been forwarded to jail authorities. The jail authorities will take next steps.”

Members of the medical board talked to Khaleda and checked her health in presence of Dhaka Civil Surgeon Ehsanul Karim, said Dr Shamsuzzaman, head of the DMCH orthopedics department and also the chief of the medical board.

The 73-year-old former prime minister landed in jail on February 8 after a Dhaka court had sentenced her to five years' imprisonment in the Zia Orphanage Trust graft case.
