Probe body formed over severing baby’s head during cesarean

Staff Correspondent: The High Court has formed two member probe committee to investigate into the incident over severing baby’s head during cesarean in Cumilla.

The bench of Justice Salma Masud Chowdhury and Justice AKM Zahirul Hoque passed the order on Wednesday.

Prof. Dr. Shahla Khatun, National Professor and Head of Gynaecology of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) will lead the two members committee.

The probe committee has been asked to submit the report within one week. Next hearing will be held on Wednesday (April 11) in the case.

Earlier on March 25, the High Court summoned the civil surgeon of Comilla, director of Cumilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) and its five doctors to appear before it on April 4 in the case. The court also issued a rule asking them to explain why stern actions should not be taken against them.
