One killed in Badda firing

Staff Correspondent: One person was killed in the incident of firing between two rival groups on the bank of Balu river of Badda area in the capital on Sunday afternoon.

The deceased could not be known immediately.

Kazi Wazed Ali, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Badda Police Station, confirmed the news.

He said, "The firing took place between rivals of Beraid Union Parishad's Acting Chairman Jahangir Alam and local ruling party lawmaker Rahmat Ullah over establishing supremacy in the area."

"Five people who sustained bullet injuries in the incident were taken to the Apollo Hospital," he added.
