Belal Chy’s body to be taken to Shaheed Minar

Staff Correspondent: The body of noted poet Belal Chowdhury will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar on Wednesday so that people from all walks of life can pay their last respect. 

Razib Kumar Saha, customer manager of Anwar Khan Modern Hospital said this on Tuesday.

He said the body will be taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU). Later, the body of Belal Chowdhury will be taken to Central Shaheed Minar.

He passed away around 12:15pm on Tuesday. He was 79.

The Ekushey Padak winning poet was undergoing treatment the hospital with multiple ailments including kidney problem and anemia and was on life support since Friday.

Belal Chowdhury is one of the powerful poets of the 60's.

He is also a prominent article writer, and translator. He had long been served "Bharat Bichitra" as its editor published from Indian embassy in Dhaka.
