DU VC’s residence attack: Arrest on specific evidence

Staff Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said the culprits who made attack on the residence of Dhaka University (DU) Vice-Chancellor (VC) are being brought under law, after identifying them on specific information and evidences.

“Four people have already been arrested over the incident. They are not students of the university,” he added.

The Minister said this while speaking at a programme in the capital on Wednesday.

Home Minister said, “The attack on VC’s house was shameless. Those who made such attack may not be students. Police and intelligence agencies are investigating into the matter.”

“The perpetrators will not be spared, no matter which party they belong to,” he added.

Over the arrest of four, the Home Minister said, “They were arrested on specific information and evidences. They are not students of the university. Of them, one is a madrasa student. Investigation was running against the others. Police must uncover what it was happened on the day. Just wait.”

A group of masked attackers swooped on DU VC house on the campus on April 9, amidst clash between police and demonstrators of quota reform.
