Cox’s Bazar Correspondent: The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) will work with the United Nations (UN) to create necessary conditions for the safe and voluntary return of the Rohingya people to their homeland.

A delegation of OIC said this to journalists after visiting the Rohingya camps on Friday.

The delegation comprising of foreign ministers, foreign secretaries and other high officials from 68 countries reached Cox’s Bazar on Friday morning by a special flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali and State Minister for Foreign Affairs Md Shahriar Alam accompanied them.

They will attend the 45th session of OIC Council of Foreign Ministers starting from tomorrow (Saturday) in the capital.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is scheduled to open the two-day event at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre (BICC).

The theme of this year’s council is ‘Islamic Values for Sustainable Peace, Solidarity and Development’.

More than 700,000 Myanmar's Muslim Rohingyas took shelter after a military crackdown in Myanmar's Rakhine State.
