HM Ershad mourns death of MP Maidul

Senior Correspondent: Jatiya Party Chairman and former President HM Ershad on Friday condoled the death of AKM Maidul Islam, MP, of Kurigram-3 constituency.

In a condolence message, JP Chairman expressed profound shock at the death of Maidul and conveyed sympathy to the bereaved family members.

The Jatiya Party MP AKM Maidul Islam died at United Hospital at 11:40 pm at the age of 78.

The body of the MP will be taken to Kurigram on Saturday morning. On May 13 (Sunday), the body will be returned Dhaka. Later, the lawmaker will be buried at Banani graveyard after fourth namaz-e-janaza.

Maidul Islam, also a former minister, was born on May 29, 1940. He was first elected from Kurigram-3 seat in 1979 and performed as a minister in the Post, Telecommunication Ministry, Mineral Resources Ministry and the Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry. Later, he was also elected as a member of parliament from the same constituency in 1996, 2008 and 2014.
