Eid advance train ticket sale from June 1

Secretariat Correspondent: Sale of advance tickets for trains will start June 1 to ensure smooth journey for Eid-ul-Fitr holidaymakers.

The ticket sale will continue till June 6. Besides, the sale of the return ticket will start from June 10 and continue till June 15.

Railway Minister Mujibul Haque made the disclosure while addressing a press conference at the Rail Bhaban in capital on Thursday noon.

A total of 25 percent tickets will be sold through online and rest of amount will be available at ticket counters. Each passenger will be able to buy maximum four tickets.

Railway Minister said that the law enforcers will conduct special patrol to ensure safe journey in train. The holidays of officials and employees of the railway will be cancelled from June 10 to June 15.

Mujibul Haque also said seven pair special train will provide service this year.

The country's largest Eid congregation takes place at Sholakia in Kishoreganj. So, two trains - Kishoreganj special-1 (Bhairab-Kishoreganj-Bhairab) and Kishoreganj special-2 (Mymensingh-Kishoreganj-Mymensingh) - will run on Eid day for the Sholakia Eid prayers, said the minister.
