Staff Correspondent, Savar: Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader has claimed that Teesta treaty has been progressed during this tour of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in Kolkata.
The minister made the disclosure while visiting Ashulia highway in Savar on Saturday noon.
Obaidul Quader said, "The Premier did not go to Delhi this time. She went to Kolkata Visva-Bharati campus to inaugurate Bangladesh Bhaban. So, Teesta water sharing issue was not the agenda of her tour. However, I can surely say that progress has been made over Teesta treaty in this India tour."
Mentioning the ongoing anti-drug drive issue, he said, "the brother-in-law of MP Bodi was not spared. So, if the crime of anybody is proved, he or she will be punished."
The high officials of road and highway department and local Awami League leaders-activists attended the function.
