Staff Correspondent, Narayanganj: A district court has sentenced death penalty to three persons for killing a garment worker Asma Akther Beauty after kidnapping and raping her ten years before.
Judge of Narayanganj Women and Children Repression Court Md Jewel Rana pronounced the verdict on Monday.
In the case, four convicts were acquitted.
The lifers were- Nasir Uddin Bittal, son of NurUddin. Sofun, son of Aku Mia, and Khokan Mia, son of late Abdus Salam.
However, the garment worker Asma Akther Duty was returning home on March 12, 2008, following her duty at night. The convicts kidnapped Asma on the way and raped her. Later, they buried the body after killing her.
The victim’s father Raja Miah filed the case.
