18 new judges appointed to HC

Staff Correspondent: Eighteen additional judges were appointed to the High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court (SC) on Wednesday, raising the number of HC judges to 98.

President Abdul Hamid made the appointments for two years in line with Article 98 of the constitution.

Sources of Law Ministry confirmed the news at the evening.

Newly appointed judges are known as Abu Ahmed Jomadar of International Crimes Tribunal (ICT), Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Law Mostafizur Rahman, Judge Fatema Nazib of the District and Sessions Judge Court in Narsingdi, Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Kamrul Hossain Mollah, Judge S M Quddus Zaman of Dhaka district and sessions judge court, Dhaka divisional special Judge M Atoar Rahman, Supreme Court’s lawyer SM Abdul Mobin, Deputy Attorney General Khijir Hayat, Deputy Attorney General SM Moniruzzaman, Deputy Attorney General Shashanka Shekhar Sarkar, Supreme Court (SC) lawyer Mohammad Ali, SC lawyer Mohiuddin Shamim, SC lawyer Riaz Uddin Khan, SC lawyer Khairul Alam, SC lawyer Ahmed Sohel, Deputy Attorney General Sardar M Rashed Jahangir, Deputy Attorney General Khandaker Diliruzzaman and SC lawyer Dr KM Hafizul Alam.
