18 new judges of HC take oath

Staff Correspondent: Newly appointed 18 additional judges to the High Court (HC) Division of the Supreme Court (SC) have taken oath.
Chief Justice Syed Mahmud Hossain administered the oath-taking ceremony at Judges Lounge of the Supreme Court on Thursday afternoon.
SC registrar generalZakir Hossain conducted the programme.
Earlier, the programme started around 3:05pm through reciting verses from the Holy Quran.
The newly appointed judges who took oath are: Abu Ahmed Jamader, Member, International Crimes Tribunal, Dhaka, Md Mostafizur Rahman, Additional Secretary, Law and Justice Department of law ministry, Fatema Nazib, District and Sessions Judge, Narshingdi, Md Kamrul Hossain Molla, Metropolitan Sessions Judge, Dhaka, SM Quddus Jaman, District and Sessions Judge, Dhaka, Md Atoar Rahman, Divisional Special Judge, Dhaka, SM Abdul Mobin, Advocate, Supreme Court, Khizir Hayat, Deputy Attorney General, Shashangka Shekhor Sarker, Deputy Attorney General, Mohammad Ali, Advocate, Supreme Court, Mohiudddin Shamim, Advocate, Supreme Court, Md Riaz Uddin Khan, Advocate, Supreme Court, Md Khairul Alam, Advocate, Suprmee Court, SM Moniruzzaman, Deputy Attorney General, Ahmed Sohel, Advocate, Supreme Court, Sarder Md Rashed Jahangir, Deputy Attorney General, Khondaker Diliruzzaman, Deputy Attorney General, and Dr K M Hafizul Alam, Advocate, Supreme Court.
Earlier on Wednesday (May 30) President Abdul Hamid made the appointments for two years in line with Article 98 of the constitution.
