Train AC-cabin tickets crisis ahead of Eid

Staff Correspondent: The Eid homebound people failed to get the tickets of Bangladesh Railway's Air-Conditioned cabins.
The sale of advance train tickets ahead of Eid-ul-fitr began from Friday. Some people were seen in smile face after getting their desired tickets from railway station. But, the tickets of AC cabins are not available at ticket counters.
Following the issue, Kamalapur Railway Station Manager Sitangshu Chakrabarty told risingbd.com that the AC cabins were not included in their server due to reserved quota. Besides, the tickets sale started 15 minutes later today. However, the problem will be solved from Saturday.
"It was tough to get a ticket. However, I am happy that finally got my ticket and now I will be able to enjoy this Eid with my family," said Rahela Chowdhury, a passenger at Kamalapur Railway station.
Earlier, the railway authority fixed June 1 for the advance train ticket sales to begin. Advance tickets for travelling on June 10, 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15 would be sold on June 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6 respectively.
Although there is an allegation that some tickets went in black-markets. Eid tickets were seen in the hands of some children. Black marketers are selling those train tickets using the children.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of the Government Railway Police (GRP), Dhaka, and Mohammad Yasin Faruk said that action will be taken if anyone got involve with illegal black marketing of tickets.
