Huge crowd at Kamalapur to collect tickets

Staff Correspondent:  A huge crowd of people continued on Tuesday at Kamalapur railway station to fetch train tickets for going home to celebrate Eid ul-Fitr to avoid the tiresome traffic congestion on highways.

During visit on Tuesday it was seen that Bangladesh Railways continued it’s selling advance tickets of train service for June 14.

However, many people spent whole night at the railway station to get their tickets. The entire stations were found packed with ticket seekers by the morning.

Queues before the ticket counters for northern districts were relatively longer than others.

Each passenger is being allowed to procure maximum four tickets and tickets sold earlier are not being returned, sources said.

Keeping Eid festival in mind, railway started the sale of advance ticket on June 1.

Besides, important rail stations including Chittagong, Khulna, Sylhet, Rajshahi, Rangpur and Dinajpur are selling advance tickets.

The sale of the return tickets will start from June 9 and the holidaymakers would get the tickets for June 18 on that day (June 9).
