EC expresses satisfaction over GCC polls

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has expressed satisfaction over voting in the Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) polls.

Secretary of EC Secretariat Helal Uddin Ahmed came up with the satisfaction to the newsmen at the Agargaon Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital on Tuesday.

He said, “We are satisfied as the Gazipur City Corporation polls ended in a fair manner.”

Voting in nine centers among 425 has been postponed due to irregularities, he added.

Helal Uddin said the commission took steps whenever it found any allegation of irregularities.

The voting was completed in a festive mood, he added.
