'Myanmar must take responsibility to solve Rohingya crisis'

Senior Correspondent: United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres said, Myanmar has to take responsibility to solve Rohingya crisis.

In a tweeter message, he said, "I welcome the announcement by @WorldBank of support to Bangladesh for Rohingya refugees and host communities. Ahead of my visit with @JimYongKim, I commend Bangladesh’s generosity in hosting the refugees. We must step up our support."

The UN chief arrived Dhaka by a flight of Qatar Airways at 2:00am on Sunday. Foreign minister Hasan Mahmood Ali welcomed him at the airport.

Earlier, on Saturday afternoon, World Bank President Jim Yong Kim arrived Dhaka in a two days long visit.

World Bank President and United Nations Secretary General are now staying at Radisson Blu Water Garden hotel.



Both the UN and the World Bank chiefs will visit Rohingya camps in Cox's Bazar on Monday.

They will meet Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. They will also meet Foreign Minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith and Foreign minister Hasan Mahmood Ali.
