2 pilots killed in Jashore training aircraft crash

Staff Correspondent, Jashore: Two pilots of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) were killed as a trainer aircraft crashed on Sunday night in Jessore, said Inter Service Public Relations (ISPR) of Bangladesh Army.
The deceased are- Squadron Leader Md Serajul Islam and Squadron Leader Enayet Kabir Polash.
According to the Inter Service Public Relations Directorate (ISPR), the aircraft (K-8W) crashed at Book Bhora Baor (water body) under Sadar upazila on Sunday night. The aircraft took off from BAF Base BS Matiur Rahman was on a night training mission.
The rescue mission is still underway in the area and a high-level committee has been formed to investigate the crash.
Jessore Airport Manager Alamgir Pathan said the aircraft crashed at Bukbhora Baor of Faridpur village around 9:20pm after it took off from the BAF Base Matiur Rahman.
There were two pilots in the aircraft, he said.
