Staff Correspondent: A group of quota reform protesters has been attacked again when they brought out a flag procession at Central Shaheed Minar.
Sources said that the protesters tried to bring out a flag procession on Monday according to their previous announcement. Meanwhile, attackers attacked them around 11:00am.
Quota reform protesters complained that all the attackers were the activists of the Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), the ruling Awami League’s students wing. However, the Chhatra League denied the allegation.
Lutfunnahar Lina, a protester said, "Chhatra League leaders and activists beat our brothers in broad daylight. No one came forward to save them."
"The ongoing logical quota-reform movement cannot be suppressed by using Chhatra League," the protesters said.
Earlier on Saturday, some quota reform agitators including Nurul Huq Nur, joint convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Adhikar Sangrakkhan Parishad, were injured as Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leaders and activists allegedly attacked them on the Dhaka University campus.
