ECNEC approves 8 projects worth Tk 6,493cr

Staff Correspondent: The Executive Committee of National Economic Council (Ecnec) has approved eight development projects valued at Tk6,493 crore.

The projects were approved at the ECNEC meeting of the current fiscal, held in the National Economic Council conference room in Dhaka on Tuesday, with ECNEC Chairperson and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina in the chair.

Planning Minister A H M Mustafa Kamal briefed the reporters about the outcome after the meeting.

"Of the total project cost, Tk 3,279.22 crore will come from the state exchequer, Tk 179.98 crore from the organization's own fund while the rest of Tk 33.88 crore as project assistance," Planning Minister said.

Planning Division Secretary Md Ziaul Islam, Dr Shamsul Alam, Member of General Economic Division (GED) and others attended the press briefing.
