‘Bullet train to ply on outside of Dhaka-Chattogram too’

Secretariat Correspondent: Railways Minister Md Mujibul Haque said the high speed bullet train will also ply on different routes of the country.

He said, “Not only on Dhaka-Chattogram route, bullet train will also ply on Dhaka-Sylhet, Dhaka-Rajshahi and Dhaka-Payra port routes in future.”

The Minister came up with the disclosure while speaking at the annual DC conference at the cabinet conference room of the Secretariat on Wednesday.

Mujibul said the government will construct necessary infrastructures for smooth movement of bullet trains that will help bring a significant change in the communication sector.

Railways Minister also gave reply to some questions made by the DCs.

In the programme, Bogura Deputy Commissioner (DC) requested the minister to start Sirajganj-Bogura-Rangpur railway track within a short time.

Dhaka DC demanded to launch more commuter trains on Kamalapur-Airport route.

Railway Secretary Md Mofazzel Hossain and Director General of Railway Department Md Amjad Hossain, among others, were present at the discussion.
