Titas upazila ex-chairman allegedly abducted

Staff Correspondent: Former chairman of Titas upazila, Parvez Hossain Sarkar has been reportedly picked up by men in plainclothes from capital's Lalmatia.

Mohammadpur police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Jamal Uddin Mir told risingbd.com that unknown people kidnapped him after Jumma prayers on Friday .

Quoting family members, he said, Parvez Sarkar was coming out of Lalmatia Minar Mosque and a group of unknown men tucked him away in using a Pajero car.

The law enforcers are working to rescue him, OC said.

Fahad, cousin of Parvez Hossain said, four people followed the victim this noon and one of them shook hand of Parvez. At one stage, they tucked him away in a car.

Parvez Sarkar is Cumilla north Awami League president. He was expecting nomination to contest upcoming national election from Cumilla-2 constituency.
