19 platoons of BGB men deployed in Rajshahi

Staff Correspondent, Rajshahi: A total 19 platoons of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) members have been deployed in Rajshahi ahead of the city corporation elections.
The border guards were deployed at different parts of the cities in the morning to avert any untoward incident during the election.
Lieutenant colonel Shamim Masud Al Iftekhar a commander of BGB battalion confirmed the matter.
He said of the 19 platoons of BGB men, 15 platoons will work to maintain security and four platoons will work as reserve force.
The BGB men will remain deployed until July 31, he added.
Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) spokesperson Iftekhar Alam said over three thousands policemen will be deployed to ensure peaceful environment during election.
