Staff Correspondent:  Two drivers and two helpers of Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan were arrested following a bus accident that killed two students on Dhaka airport road.

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-1 in a drive arrested them in the capital from Sunday night to Monday morning.

Meanwhile, traffic on Dhaka Airport Road came to a halt on Monday morning as students of different schools and colleges blocked the road protesting at the death of two students in a road crash on Sunday.

Witnesses said several hundred students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College took to the streets around 10:30am and put up barricade on the road, disrupting traffic movement on the busy road.

Chanting slogans and holding banners in their hands, the agitating students demanded justice.

The demonstrators blame reckless driving, no value of human lives as major causes of road accidents.

Many demanded installation of speed breakers at those points where the vehicle come down from the flyovers.

Meanwhile, since start of the demonstration in the morning, hundreds of students from other colleges including Tejgaon Government Science College, BAF Shaheen College, Bhashantek Government College and Kurmitola High School joined the protest.

Policemen tried to move the demonstrators from the road but they failed as the protesting students continue to hold the ground.

Earlier on Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road in the capital.
