City road crash offenders will be punished: Minister

Secretariat Correspondent: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal said maximum punishment will be ensured against offenders over the killing of two students in Airport Road crash.

The minister came up with the assertion while addressing a meeting with top officials of law enforcers, transport owners and workers in secretariat office on Wednesday.

Home Minister said, "We accepted the demand of students who took to streets. Their all demands are logical. Maximum punishment will be ensured over the death of two students in city road accident."

Urging the students to go back to their classroom, he said, "Unlicensed, without fitness and road permit vehicles will not be allowed to ply road. Otherwise, legal action will be taken against concerned bus owners."

Shipping Minister Shahjahan Khan, Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperative Alhaj Mashiur Rahman Ranga, Inspector General of Police Javed Patwari, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia attended the function.
