‘Nothing to be worried for Bangladesh over Asam issue’

Secretariat Correspondent: Terming Asam issue internal matter of the country, Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Harsh Vardhan Shringla said there is nothing to be worried for Bangladesh over it.
He told this to the reporters while emerging from meeting with Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at the Secretariat on Thursday.
It may be mentioned that nearly 41 lakh people were dropped out in the national annual calendar published by Asam state government on Monday. The ruling BJP of the country claimed that the people who were dropped out of the calendar are ‘illegal migrants from Bangladesh’.
Asked about the matter, Indian High Commissioner said, “It is an internal issue of Indian. Nothing to be worried for Bangladesh in this regard.”
He said, “The list recently published was not final. People who were dropped out in the list could be appeal against the decision. It is a long-term process.”
He also said Asam issue will not create any problem like Rohingya crisis.
Indian High Commissioner met Obaidul Quader to invite an international seminar to be held in India, he himself confirmed.
