Quota reform leader Luma gets bail

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court has granted bail to Quota reform leader Lutfun Nahar Ruma in a case filed against her for allegedly spreading rumours on social media and instigating violence during the recent student movement for safe roads.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Subrata Ghosh passed the order on Monday after hearing.

Her lawyers Barrister Jyotirmoy Barua, Nur Uddin and Jayedur Rahman moved for Luma the in the case, lawyer Jayedur Rahman said.

Earlier, on August 15, Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit and police from Belkuchi police station arrested her from Belkuchi upazila of Sirajganj. Later, the court placed Lutfur Nahar Luma on a three-day remand in the case.

Luma is a second-year student of Social Science department at Eden Mohila College in capital.
