Ctg Road Death: Driver, helper sued

Staff Correspondent, Chattogram: A murder case has been filed over the death of a young man, who died after being pushed from a running bus by its staff in Chittagong.

Victim's maternal uncle Ahmedur Rahman filed the murder case against bus driver Didarul Alam and helper Mohammad Manik with Akbar Shah police station in the port city on Tuesday night.

Jashim Uddin, Officer-in-Charge of Akbar Shah Police Station said the family of the victim filed a murder case on charge of death of Rezaul Karim Rony. Police raid is underway to detain the bus driver and his helper.

The case statement said, following an altercation, the helper pushed Rezaul off the vehicle and the driver drove it over him on Monday, leaving him dead on the spot.

As the news spread, locals put up a barricade in the City Gate area, demanding immediate arrest and punishment of the driver and his helper.

Rezaul Karim Rony, 35, was son of Mohammad Waliullah. After namaz-e-janaza he was buried at family graveyard on Tuesday.
