Barapukuria coal scam: ACC grill 9 officials

Staff Correspondent: The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has started quizzed nine officials of coal mine, in a case filed over a huge amount of coal selling in open market from the Barapukuria.
ACC deputy director Shamsul Alam started the interrogation around 9:00am on Thursday.
Pranab Kumar Bhattacharya, Public Relations Officer of ACC, confirmed the matter to risingbd.com.
A total of 17 more officials were scheduled to face ACC investigation on August 29 and 30.
On July 24, BCMCL director general (administration) Mohammad Anisur Rahman filed a case with Parbatipur police station in Dinajpur mentioning 19 names including former MD Habib Uddin Ahmed.
Later, the case was later transferred to the ACC for investigation. According to the official investigation, more than 142,000 tons of coal is missing from Barapukuria.
