2 remanded over DU entry test forgery

Staff Correspondent: A Dhaka court placed two admission seekers on one-day remand each in connection with a case filed for their alleged involvement in using digital devices during the admission test for the first year honours courses under the Ka-unit of Dhaka University (DU) for 2018-2019 academic year.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Abu Sayed passed the order after hearing on Saturday.
The remanded accused are Farjana Akter Mim and Ridoy alias Jaman.
Earlier, Inspector (operation) of Shahbagh Police Station Mahbubur Rahman, also the investigation officer of the case, produced the accused before the court seeking 10-day remand for interrogation.
The admission test for the first year honours courses under the Ka-unit of Dhaka University (DU) for 2018-2019 academic year was held on Friday (September 28) at 84 centers inside and outside the campus from 10:00am to 11:30am, where 81,096 students applied against 1,750 seats.
A total of 2,72,512 admission seekers applied for undergraduate admissions against 7,128 seats under five units in the 2018-19 academic session at DU.
