Police disperse govt job seekers at Shahbagh

Staff Correspondent: Police foiled a demonstration of the job seekers who took position at Shahbagh intersection demanding extension of age limit to 35 from 30 for entering government jobs.

The demonstrators took position at Shabagh intersection and continued their protest for the second consecutive day. But, the law enforcers charged batons on the demonstrators and cleared the area after 11:00am on Sunday.

Meanwhile, the protesters locked into a clash. At one stage, police detained four students from the spot.

Imtiaz Hossain, convener of Bangladesh Sadharan Chhatra Parishad said, "We are staging non-violence movement from last six years. But, our logical demands are not met yet."
