‘Militants can’t raise their heads during polls’

Staff Correspondent: “There is no fear of militant attack ahead of the national elections. Police are ready to face any situation,” said Monirul Islam, chief of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

The CTTC chief made the comment while replying to a question of journalists at DMP Media Centre on Minto Road in the capital on Tuesday.

“There is no specific information of militant attack but we are ready to face it. Each unit of Bangladesh Police is working very actively to combat militancy. Militants cannot raise their heads during the upcoming national polls as their network has already collapsed. Those scattered here and there cannot have any power to raise heads,” Monirul said.
