PM to inaugurate Kushtia bypass road tomorrow

Kushtia Correspondent: The long-desired Kushtia town bypass road will be inaugurated on Thursday.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to open the town bypass to traffic tomorrow through a video conference. 

The seven kilometer long road is connected with Kushtia-Pabna highway from Bottail area of Kushtia.



Rafiqul Islam, Executive Engineer of Roads and Highways Department said the hundred percent construction work of the bypass road has ended. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will open the road through video conference on Thursday. The pressure of traffic will be reduced as well as the rate of road accident will be decreased. 

A total of Tk 109.60 crore has been spent to construct the road. Construction work of the road began in 2016. Two PC bridges and 20 culverts have also been built along the road to ease traffic congestion in Kushtia. 



Deputy Commissioner of Kushtia Md Aslam Hossain said the Premier will inaugurate the bypass road around 10:00am on Thursday through a video conference from Bangababhan.
