Demonstration at Supreme Court

Staff Correspondent: Pro-BNP lawyers demonstrated on the Supreme Court premises on Wednesday morning in protest against the raising Khaleda Zia’s jail term in Zia Orphanage Trust case.

Keeping the different rooms under lock, pro-BNP lawyers began demonstration around 9.00am.

President of Supreme Court Ainjibi Samity Advocate Zainul Abedin said Khaleda Zia’s verdict was given in the face of government pressure. If the government's intervention on the court continues, a court boycott programme will be announced throughout the country.
