22 leaders led by PM to join dialogue with Oikyafront

Senior Correspondent: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also president of Awami League (AL) will lead the side of 14-party alliance in the dialogue with Jatiya Oikyafront to be held on November 01 (Thursday).

Besides PM, 21 leaders of the central 14-party alliance will attend the dialogue.

The news was revealed by a press statement signed by AL office secretary Abdus Subhan Golap on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the statement, the dialogue is scheduled to be held at PM’s official residence Gonobhaban at 7:00pm on Thursday.

AL leaders Obaidul Quader, Amir Hossain Amu, Tofail Ahmed, Matia Chowdhury, Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim, Mohammad Nasim, Kazi Zafar Ullah, Workers Party of Bangladesh leader Rashed Khan Menon, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) leader Hasanul Huq Inu, JSD-faction leader Mainul Khan Badol and Sammobadi Dal leader Dilip Barua are among the 21-member delegation.

The other members of the delegation are:  Advocate Anisul Huq, Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzak, Sree Ramesh Chandra Sen, Mahbubul Alam Hanif, Dr Dipu Moni, Abdur Rahman, Dr Abdus Sobhan Golap, Dr Hasan Mahmud and Advocate S M Rezaul Karim.

Earlier on Tuesday, Jatiya Oikyafront submitted a list of 16 leaders’ delegation to join dialogue led by the alliance leader, also Gono Forum president Dr Kamal Hossain. Five leaders of BNP will attend the discussion.

On October 28, Dr Kamal Hossain sent PM a letter, urging dialogue over the upcoming 11th general election. In reply on October 29, PM Sheikh Hasina expressed her interest to hold a dialogue and invited Kamal Hossain and Co to her official residence Gono Bhaban.
