Deposition begins in case over airport road crash

Staff Correspondent: Deposition has begun in a case filed over the death of two college students in a road crash in the city's Kurmitola area.

Jahangir Alam who filed the case, also father of one of the deceased Dia Khanam Mim, gave deposition to the court of Dhaka Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court K M Imrul Kayes on Thursday.

Later, the court fixed November 5 for further deposition in the case.

Tapos Kumar Pal, public prosecutor of the court, confirmed the news.

The accused in the case are: Bus driver Masum Billah, his helper Enayet Hossain, owner Shahadat Hossain and driver of another bus Zobair Sumon, his helper Kazi Asad and owner Jahangir Alam.

Mentionable, Abdul Karim alias Rajib Uddin, 18, and Dia Khanam Mim, 17, of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College were run over and killed by the bus being driven by Masum.

The accident happened when two vehicles were taking part in a race for passengers in the city’s  Kurmitola area on Airport Road on July 29.
