Snatcher killed in mass beating in Tongi

Staff Correspondent, Gazipur: A snatcher was beaten to death by agitating locals in Moddho Arichpur area of Tongi on Friday night.

The deceased was identified Russel alias Gittu Russel, son of late Kabir Hossain at Bhimpur under Chatkhil Thana in Noakhali district.

Russel would reside in a rented house in Moddho Arichpur area.

According to police and locals, Russel was a listed snatcher and terrorist in the area.  Russel was trying to snatch. When the victim started screaming, locals surrounded them and caught him.

The mugger died on the spot after a severe mass beating at around 9:00pm.
