Three killed in Kushtia road crashes

Kushtia Correspondent: At least three people were killed in two separate accidents in Mizapur area on Kushtia-Rajbari highway and Mirpur Bhangabottola area on Kushtia-Meherpur highway this morning. 

The deceased were identified as Mahatab, 50, Abdul Kader, 65 and Masum, 50.

Kushtia fire brigade deputy director Firoz Kutubi said a passenger bus plunged into a roadside ditch in Mizapur, leaving a passenger dead on the spot and injured 21 people. Later, another passenger died under treatment in hospital.

Khoksha Upazila Health Complex emergency department doctor Delwar Hossain said the condition of two more passengers are critical.

On the other hand, a motorcycle rider named Masum, 50, was killed when a bus hit the bike from opposite direction in Mirpur Bhangabottola area around 10:00am.
