‘No bloodshed, we want fair election’

Staff Correspondent: Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) KM Nurul Huda has said, “We want a fair election. We do not want any clash and bloodshed centering the election”.

The CEC said this while speaking at the inaugural session of the last day's briefing to the executive magistrates responsible for the eleventh parliamentary election in the auditorium of the Election Building at Agargaon in the city on Monday.

The Election Commission gave briefing to 691 executive magistrates in three batches.

“ It is your duty to keep election environment safe,” he said.

“The polling day is a very important day. You have to perform duty carefully on the day. Sometimes you may have to face embarrassing or provocative situation,  you might be misguided. You have to face the entire situation with intelligence, skills and readiness,” he said.

“ You have to understand which incident is true and which false. You have to keep contact with presiding officers and other colleagues to get updates about the polling stations,” said the CEC.
