Polls candidates should be treated as candidate only

Staff Correspondent: The aspirants in the 11th parliament election should be treated as aspirants only, said Chief Election Commissioner K M Nurul Huda.

The CEC made the assertion while addressing a training program at Agargaon in the capital on Thursday morning.

Providing direction to the government officials, he said, “When a candidate joins election then his identity is a candidate only. There is no other political identity of him/her. So, all candidates should be treated equally.”

He said, “We had an expectation that there will be a competitive election in the country this time. The expectation has been fulfilled. A competitive election will be taken place with the participation of all.”

Meanwhile, the CEC directed the government officials to keep a fair and neutral environment in the elections.
