Cancellation of nomination: 82 aspirants appeal in 1st day

Staff Correspondent: A total of 82 aspirants submitted petitions to the Election Commission challenging the cancellation of their nomination papers.

The Election Commission (EC) received the application of the aggrieved aspirants from 10:00am to 6:00pm on Monday.

Khandakar Abu Ashfak, Reza Kibria, Golam Maula Rony and Hiro Alam were among those who filed the petitions.

The rejected aspirants can appeal to get back their nomination till Wednesday (December 5). Later, The Election Commission will settle the appeal hearing on December 6, 7 and 8.

Following the issue, EC Secretary Helal Uddin Ahmad said that the rejected candidates will be able to appeal with Election Commission to get back their nominations till December 5.
