Sheikh Hasina visits Sylhet shrine

Staff Correspondent, Sylhet: Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina offered munajat at three shrines in Sylhet before formally starting her election campaign.

A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight BG-1211 carrying Sheikh Hasina landed at the Sylhet Osmani International Airport at 10:47am.

According to the custom, the premier entered the Shrine of Hazrat Shah Jalal and spent there few times to offer prayer before visiting the shrines of Shah Paran and Burhanuddin Shah.

After lunch at Sylhet circuit house, she will address an election rally of her party at the Sylhet Government Alia Madrasa ground. Later, she will return Dhaka around 4:30pm. 

Sylhet Metropolitan Police Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media) Jedan Al Musa said tight security measures have been taken centering the visit of the Prime Minister.
