‘Army will work if police, RAB, BGB fail’

Staff Correspondent: The army members will not perform their duties as a striking force in this election rather that they will work according to CRPC 127 to 132 sections.

Election Commissioner Brigadier General (retd) Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury said this while talking to journalists at his office on Thursday noon.

The army will work to control the situation if the police, RAB and BGB fail, he said.

Shahadat Hossain Chowdhury said, “It is a big challenge for us to organize polls in 300 seats in a day. EVM machines have already reached 6 seats. Our preparation is very good. About 5 lakh law enforcers have been deployed ahead of elections”.
