Send SMS to 105 for polling centres info

Staff Correspondent: The Election Commission (EC) has launched the short message service (SMS) with an aim to facilitate the voters to know about their polling centres.

The voters of only metropolitan areas will get this facility.

EC System Analyst Farzana Akter came up with the information.

The voters of all city corporations including Dhaka and Chattogram can avail of this facility from 1:00pm on Saturday, she said.

Using any mobile operator, voters can get the facility by typing “PC NID number” and sending the message to 105, Farzana said about the SMS process.

The voters will have to write 10-digit or 17-digit number of their smart card in place of National ID number. But those voters who have 13-digit NID number will have to add their year of birth before the NID number, she added.

The 11th parliamentary election is scheduled to be held tomorrow (December 30).
